Sony Mobile has released a new firmware update in the form of build number 23.4.A.1.236 that is rolling for the Xperia Z2 and Z3 series. This compares to the current version of 23.4.A.1.232. We cannot confirm right now whether the update fully patches the Stagefright exploit (in particular CVE-2015-6602).
The update is only live for the Vodafone network in select European countries. It has been released for the Xperia Z3 (D6603), Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803), Xperia Z2 (D6503) and Xperia Z2 Tablet (SGP521). If you have downloaded the update, let us know your thoughts below.

A new firmware update has been certified for the Xperia Z1 series with build number 14.6.A.1.216. The update has been certified for all variants of the Xperia Z1 (C6902, C6903, C6943, C6906), Xperia Z Ultra (C6802, C6833 , C6843 , C6806) and Xperia Z1 Compact (D5503). The new update compares to current build version 14.6.A.0.368 i.e. a move from 14.6.A.0.XXX to 14.6.A.1.XXX. We’ll let you know once the update starts to roll.

A new firmware update with build number 32.0.A.6.152 has been released for the Xperia Z5 (E6603, E6653), Xperia Z5 Dual (E6633, E6683) and Xperia Z5 Compact (E5803, E5823). The update is currently rolling to all variants of each handset with the OTA update coming in at a 281MB size.

Sony Mobile has today pushed a new firmware update OTA for its Android 6.0 Marshmallow Concept firmware for the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact. New firmware build number MRA58K.Z1.2123-somc adds a new boot animation as well a battery percentage on the icon. The build also includes a new version of the Sony Album app (7.3.A.6.0) and Text Input (7.0.A.0.14). For those that are on the program, you should find an OTA update available through the settings menu. 
Sony Mobile is pushing out its latest Xperia Marshmallow Concept firmware for the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact. Android 6.0 firmware build MDB08M.Z1.2134-somc includes the latest Android build from Google, NFC updates, start-up fixes and a new Album app (7.3.A.6.1) with fixes for SD card folders and background images. For those in the beta, the update should be rolling OTA right now.

The new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware finally provides a full Stagefright fix and is currently rolling out to the following variants: Xperia Z2 (D6503) and Xperia Z2 Tablet (SGP511, SGP521). A few weeks back, we reported that Sony Mobile had released firmware build 28.0.A.8.266 for the Xperia Z3+ Dual but only for a single market (China). Well now Sony has pushed the button for this firmware and it is currently rolling to a number of regions globally. Sony Mobile has released a new firmware update for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow Concept with build number MDB08M.Z1.2178-somc. The update includes a number of bug fixes along with a new version of the Album app (7.4.A.0.12), Email app (11.0.A.0.4) and a new Home launcher (10.0.A.0.4), which allows users to uninstall most of the preinstalled Google apps, although some of the Sony ones remain baked in. Initial reports suggest few noticeable changes over the previous build (14.6.A.1.216), hence we expect this to just be a small bug-fixing update. A new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware update will soon be heading to the older Sony Xperia Z series, as build number 10.7.A.0.228 has just been certified by the PTCRB. This new firmware version compares to the current 10.7.A.0.222 build – we expect that the minor change in build number will lead to a Stagefright patch. The update has been certified for variants of the Sony Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z. We’ll let you know once the update starts to roll. 
Sony Mobile has released a new build of the Concept for Android Marshmallow firmware on Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact devices. The latest firmware (build number MDB08M.Z1.2186-somc) makes changes to auto brightness (the darkest level is now darker than before) and updates the Sony Email app to version 11.0.A.0.5 which brings a number of bug fixes (see below).
